For my wife... :-)
The words to this song echo my feelings so very well that I don't know I could ever express them in any better way...

Baby all I've got is this beat up leather bag... )</div>
I love you, sweetheart, more than you'll ever know.

Just a short one...
I'm alive, but not so much on the kicking. Thankfully, I have a wonderful family (both blood and heart) that helps in times like these. For those that may or may not know, I blew out my MCL on Sunday night hopping down from two feet only (unknown to me) unlevel ground. Basically, I heard 3 pops then crumpled in pain. Tried to stand twice, with my knee buckling inward both times. Instead of snapping the ligament, it popped off it's bone anchor.  Orthopaedist said that the middle ligament (ACL I think), and the outside ligament (PCL I think) both seem to be OK, which is a good thing.

More to come as I know more, plus gotta talk about the wedding and honeymoon, now that I've been married almost a month.

Talk to y'all later.

Do you know how to arrange flowers?  Do you know someone you trust that knows how to arrange flowers?  If the answer is yes, please get in touch with [info]spitfiren9  or myself.  And yes, you are correct, this is for wedding assistance.

You scored the nastiest possible score on the Sexual Hell Test. You have no sexual restraint whatsoever. You'll take pleasure however you can get it, and my guess is you get it <i>a lot</i>. If for some reason you don't right now, you will soon, as people in your category only tend to spiral down ever deeper into the abyss of carnality and delicious sin. Congratulations.<br><br>
I, personally, think that this category is the best. Paradoxically enough, sexual liberation and indulgence can only bring you closer to purity.<br><br>

For those playing the home version...
I haven't posted a lot about it, but I'm currently back in school fulltime at Chattahoochee Tech for Networking specialist associate's w/ a focus in Cisco Certification.  This quarter I ran head first into a super-crazy psychology professor who, at one point, claimed all of the following:

Hitler had his scientists create Crystal Meth for use in a new elite group of fighters who would be sent to Russia whilst in the throes of DTs.

Brian Nichols killed because he was on Crystal Meth.

ADD/ADHD doesn't exist.  It's someone using the system to act irresponsible.  (I almost came out of my chair on that one.)

Satanists have unrecorded births then ritually abuse the children to CREATE Disassociative Personality Disorder ("Multiple Personality Disorder.")

There's a haunted cemetary  on Concord Rd in Marietta/Smyrna/Powder Springs where a witch is buried, and when she went there, a guy pulled his pud while watching her through a picture window.

There are more, but I don't feel like continuing.

*waits for the laughter to subside*

I had her final last night.  Made an A on the Final, made an A in the class.

Yes, I survived PsychoBabble 101!!!!

I have come to a realization!!!

I am both the block of marble and the artist with a chisel.

Some will understand the metaphor, others will not.  No offense, but it is not your understanding that is the goal of this.  This is for my record, my understanding, and my fights with my own demons.

Have a wonderful day!

So, yeah, moments in teh dum...
So, this morning, I'm getting ready to make cookies because SOMEONE *cough [info]spitfiren9 cough* has to have cookies when she's decorating the tree.  I put said sheet pan of cookies in the oven and turn around to turn on the microwave as a timer.  Now, you might ask, "Well, 4x, why don't you use an egg timer?".  We had one, but it had gotten misplaced, and Luke had been using the microwave with nothing in it to no ill effect.   So, I turn on the microwave and set it for ten minutes then commence to chatting with said wife.  All of a sudden this horrid stench fills the air, I turn and see smoke just *ROLLING* out of the microwave.  Yes, I freaked out and in a split second was over at the microwave stopping it and trying to figure out why it was smoking.

Now, let's stop here just a second and rewind to my 9 year old stepson telling me, "Jim, I put the last 3 cookies in the microwave last night so the cats wouldnt' get them."  "OK, thank you, Jonathan..."

Back to the story...

I'm trying my damnedest to figure out why the microwave is smoking like an 80 year old blues singer when I open the door and MORE smoke starts pouring out.  What do I find but the styrofoam plate of cookies that I had forgotten were in there.  Yes, they melted through the plate.  Yes, when I put a second plate under them, they melted that plate.  Yes, I felt like an absolute dumbass.  Yes, you can stop f'n laughing now.  That is all...

I'd say thank you, but I don't mean it.  Fuckers.  :P

P. S. The wife did get her cookies, unburnt, chewy like she likes them.

Just so you know...
</a></font></b></a>[info]spitfiren9 and I won't be making Dragon*Con this year.  It is a decision that was hard for both of us to make but one that, after looking at it objectively, had to be done.

The whys really aren't that important, just simply know that we will be down Thursday night for an event with friends and to do some socializing, but will be headed back up afterward to the friendly confines.

We both hope to be back in our normal capacities next year.

To all of you that could make it last night, thank you.  Thank you for helping my beautiful wife show me again that my birthdays are not always horrible.  (Don't worry about an explanation...)

To those of you that could not make it, I understand.  There are no worries whatsoever.

Thought provoking question, just for shits and grins...
If you had undeniable proof that Christ was truly the son of God and that the Bible was right, would you reveal it?

On the flip side...

If you had undeniable proof that Christ was simply a man, neither divine nor prophetic, would you reveal it?

Please discuss...

WOW!!!!
It's been a /long/ couple of weeks, folks.

I'm gonna make a few short but important points.

Vacation was FREAKIN' awesome! There were lots of things to do and we tried to do them all. Goofy Golf, Ripley's, the beach, the pool, Capt. Anderson's (OHMIGAWD! the pina coladas!), it was just an all out blast, honestly.

Eeyore, Murry, and Wendy's birthday party was off the chain crazy and I had a blast. Got up and sang Picture with my Baby, sang Sweet Home with Bobby, was a great, great night!

Issues have come and are fortunately going away again. Ya know, I fully believe that any problem is fixable so long as both folks involved WANT to fix it.

Work is going, I got all my stuff out of Athens finally, but accidentally grabbed some of Josh's stuff, but that's all good, we'll get connected. Now, I'm getting ready to go crash because I've got another 12 to work tomorrow.

Lookee what we got here...
1) You scheme and plot and plan and generally do everything you can to buy her that one special gift that she has no clue about, going so far as to get a custom thumb ring made that's an exact replica of a $5 piece of costume jewelry, then get an inscription put inside it that melts her heart and then watch it all unfold after a scavenger hunt through 3 different packages on Christmas morning.

2) She sneaks and schemes and plots and manages to get you an absolutely stunning matching necklace and bracelet made of white gold that look like chains.  I mean like the hardware store-type chain, and it's such a kick-ass gift that you're speechless for a good 10 to 15 minutes.

3) You and she buy a new TV, thinking little of the consequences until today when you and she go out and go furniture shopping together, seeing a great many things you really like, and start talking about future pieces and interior paint colors and all that good stuff and you really and truly realize that you're not going anywhere for a long, /long/ time and are /very/ much wonderfully OK with that idea.

Yes, I had an absolutely wonderful holiday season.  My friends and family spent /WAY/ too much money on me and I love each and every one of them not because of the gifts that they gave or did not give or any of that stuff, but because I know that they all thought of me during this holiday season, which means I'm special to them.  I spent many a year not knowing if folks called/gave/what have you around the holidays because it was expected or because I was special, and now, thanks to my wonderous, loving [info]spitfiren9 I've been shown just how much all of those in my life do care.  I've also learned that those that don't care, intend to cause harm, or are generally meaning truly malicious behaviours aren't important therefore aren't worth wasting time on.

A New Year dawns...  Many things are on the horizon, and they all look very good.  Many happy returns to you and your's.

Sweetheart, here's to another year together and to creating many more beautiful memories that sustains through the dark times of life.
I love you.

Remember this, the lives you touch are the only important legacy you will ever leave behind.

Dance as if no one is watching, Sing as if no one is listening, Love as you've never been hurt before.

It's good to be home... Good to be back on normal time instead of Con Time... I didn't feel tired when I got up this morning, yet somehow managed to fall asleep while eating cereal this morning, smoking a cig this morning, and while in the shower this morning, so I guess it's catching up to me... No matter, I'll get more rest tonight. MUST FIND JOB TOMORROW. I don't want to be functionless any longer, it's starting to annoy me, to be quite honest. Guess I'll have to start annoying the folks at the pharmacies I applied at, as well as other places too.

Now time for more Drawn Together so my brain can hurt again like at 'Con... Yay and stuff.

The Aftermath...
Another Dragon*Con has come and gone, and for once, I find myself pretty much not wanting to discuss it period. Maybe at some point in the future, but not right now.

**EDIT**

I do want to say a couple of things:

To all of you that I worked with, thank you so very much for busting your rear ends to make DC a success. I did get to have some good times by spending a little time with my love [info]spitfiren9, though she and I worked shifts that were rather conflicting, and I also got to see friends that I hadn't seen in a while.

Thank you very much to all of you that were able to attend the surprise party that Spitty threw, and thank you all very much for the well-wishes and birthday cheers that I saw here on LJ. It really makes me smile when I see things like that, though I try to bah humbug and not mention and what not.

I know it seems like I'm in a cave or something, but honestly, I'm finally getting re-wrapped up in life and thoroughly enjoying it.

Things at home are /very/ good. For a change, I'm deliriously happy. I know it sounds all sappy and shit, but I don't care, and no, negative comments aren't allowed for this statement, but, to be honest, I didn't know I could be this happy and satisfied with life. That's not to say that it was always horribly bad, but I didn't know it could be this doggone good.

Work is going. I'm relearning what it's like to /not/ be near the top of the food chain. /That/ part sucks, lemme tell ya...

Anyways... I'm off, but I'll holler later...

Not a big shock...
The Deviant Geek
You answered 83% of the questions as a geek truly would.
You're a geek and you know it. You've got all sorts of fringe hobbies and socially unacceptable tendencies. Chances are, whenever possible, you hate to be grouped with other people and sometimes go out of your way just to be different.

You're smart too. You're more willing to depend on your own brainpower to solve problems, instead of relying on others to pull you through life. You probably read a lot, and generally enjoy learning new things.

So what's it all mean? You may be considered by some to be uncool, but you probably don't care either. In social situations you may be either slightly passive or slightly loud (geeks always fall into the extremes). In a nutshell, you answered enough questions correctly supporting a geek philosophy to be considered a more potent geek than 60% of the population.

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

It's been a messed up couple of days...
Most of you know that I have non-hyperactive Attention Deficit Disorder and have been on Ritalin for this for several years. Well, while I was living in AZ, they came out with a drug called Strattera (generic name = Atomoxetine Hydrochloride), which is in a class of drugs that are reuptake inhibitors, with this one specifically being a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, and a kissing cousin of Wellbutrin, which is a multi-reuptake inhibitor of norepinephrine and, I believe, seratonin. Anyways... I went on this drug when I started back to college in the summer of '04, with positive results, until I became one of the lucky 2%... 2%, or so, of the population that takes this drug has side effects of mood swings (Happy, Sad, Angry, Depressed, the whole spectrum) and, most fun, rage. I have a bad enough temper as it is, but this rage kicks in, and it takes all the self control I have to not go barbarian on folks... Well, this happened a couple of times in the house in Demorest, so I stopped taking the drug. Fast forward to a week and a half ago... I tell my doctor the history of me on the drug but that because the cause of the problem could've been out of control blood-glucose level, I want to try it again. Monday of the previous week, I start on this drug. Things seem to be going rather well... Monday of this week, however, it happens all over again. I lost it at work 3 times in a span of 3 hours, with once being so bad that I had my eyes closed, fists clenched and was shaking from being so angry. Needless to say, I've been all but banned from work until this is out of my system, the Strattera is in the trash and the good ol' Doc has been called for a script for Ritalin... Talk about a holy Batshit moment...

Anyways, got Kid Rock this Saturday, then next week is the first DC meeting so time for me to be busy again.

Things happening as of late...
Got a promotion at work, kind of a battlefield promotion of sorts as the DME manager gave her week's notice and I was slated to be trained that week then take it over on the fly. After much business talking and hashing and rehashing of the situation, it was decided that the offer would be matched to keep said manager. I'm still being trained, though, so that there are two people who are able to run the department, in case of emergencies and so forth...

Busy couple of months coming up... Tomorrow is a friend's divorce party, then next Saturday is Kid Rock at the Gwinnett Arena. The day after that is a get-together with friends for some much-needed discussions. March 4th brings the Dragon*Con volunteer meeting #1, March 23-24 I've got an Excel workshop here in Athens for work, then the 24th, J and I leave out for Norfolk, VA to see Rob Zombie!!!! April will bring FroliCon (Easter Weekend, to be more specific), and then I think there's another DC staff meeting in May, so lots going on...

Next couple of months will also usher in Baseball Season, and I'm sure I'll find a way to squeeze in a few Braves games (15 in a row, here we come!!!), plus lots of movies coming out, both on DVD and in the theaters.

Went to Franklin's on Sunday with Maddog, while he was down, and be damned if they didn't have a gun just like the one that got stolen. They were having their cost-day sale, so it came to a tag of $307, but I was good and didn't buy it. Hell, I don't go shoot the Sig like I should. However, I couldn't resist the single-hand, assisted opening Kershaw in all black for only $45. Half price ain't bad at all...

Well, that's all from my neck right now... Work in the A.M., so I'm off to sleepy town.

Not a shock...
Curvy and Naughty
Raw score: 70% Big Breasts, 72% Big Ass, and 44% Cute!

Thanks for taking the T and A and C test! Based on your selections, the results are clear: you show an attraction to larger breasts, larger asses, and sexier composures than others who've taken the test.

Note that you like women overall curvier than average.

My third variable, "cuteness" is a mostly objective measure of how innocent a given model looked. It's determined by a combination of a lot of factors: lack of dark eye makeup, facial expression, posture, etc. If you scored high on that variable, you are either really nice OR you're into deflowering teens. If you scored low, you are attracted to raunchier, sexier, women. In your case, your lower than average score suggests you appreciate a sexier, naughtier look. Kudos!

Recommended Celebrities: Supermodel Laetitia Casta and Actress Angelina Jolie.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 86% on tit-size

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 92% on ass-size

free online dating free online dating
You scored higher than 14% on cuteness

Ce-le-brate Good Times, c'mon!!!!
History and background info: An HAic is the benchmark test for diabetes diagnosis and determination as tho the progress of both the patient and the disease. It measures glucose growth on the hemoglobin cells, which have a 3-month lifespan, thus giving a three month prospective on how that person's sugar levels are doing.

When I went to my doctor and was diagnosed with Type-2, uncontrolled Diabetes, my A1c was 11.7%. Normal is up to 5.5%.

I went to the doctor today and they did another A1c. It came back as 4.9%, meaning I've HALVED the glucose growth in 3 months!!!!!

To all those that supported me, thank you very, very much. To all the naysayers who were secretly saying I was not going to survive this... *smirks* Reap it!

***EDIT*** For those curious as to what I've done, it's a combo of diet, medicine, and being more active... I'm hoping to add in excercising soon. *S* Thank you all for the congrats!

A great line...
"I'm fuzzy on the whole good-bad thing..."

*laughs*

That can be applied to /soooooooo/ many situations, but ain't it truly beautiful when you figure a situation out and it was sooooo damn simple that it was there all along?? Well, that's all from my corner of the world right now... Ghostbusters is on, and friends are here.

*grins* I love this quote...
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine patris, et filii, et spiritus sanctii.

Though, this one is also very nice...

When I raise my flashing sword, and my hand takes hold on judgment, I will take vengeance upon mine enemies, and I will repay those who haze me. Oh, Lord, raise me to Thy right hand and count me among Thy saints.

Both from The_Boondock_Saints, of course. *G* Small things that make me smile...

More later, I'm sure...

A bit of humor...
One of the items the thieves took was my watch. Granted, it's a very nice watch, but the battery is dead in it. I went earlier this year to check on a replacement and was told the replacement, due to something within the watch, would be $40. I now find great humor and a touch of justice in this because I know that they won't get shit when they try and pawn it because the name isn't known (Esquire by Movado) and it doesn't work. I do hope they don't pawn it because I'd hate for some unknowning person to get shafted like that, though, if they bought it. Probably means it will get trashed, but, at least there's that touch of humor. ;)

Christmas was good. Will post more about it later...

And the hits just keep on coming...
I haven't really had the best of years, to start with, but, last night, I think mine just took the prize. Sometime between 3:45 and 8:15-ish, the apartment was broken in to and we were robbed. They got both laptops, the PS2, 3 games, the wireless controller, the cigar lighter that was gifted for Christmas, Josh's gift from me, part of J's gift from me, the cordless phone (of all things), and my pistol, but they were thankful enough to leave behind the magazine, full. They also knocked over my Christmas tree, the sumbitches. The more I walk through this in my head, the more convinced I am that it was kids. Premeditated --> They used a hammer on glass, Not Planned --> God knows how many DVDs are in this house and untouched plus the DVD players/TVs/VCR/CDs/Radios etc, Poor choice of items --> Yes, they got some high-value things, but it was only what could be grabbed hastily, and outside of my piece, and the two laptops, untraceable. However, those three things are covered in serial numbers, and the police link to every pawn shop in town with databases. Not smart, considering DVDs will sell at a movie store or pawn store for 5 bucks each, or more depending... They also left a pretty street-valued C2 stimulant (for which I'm thankful), missed a ton of Jewelry, and here's the hilarious one... They unwrapped gifts and left prints all over them, along with all over the back door. Ya know, I don't really care that they stole material posessions, but gifts, that's what left me reeling and feeling violated. I'm very glad that my roommate and/or I wasn't home when it occurred, even if that could've prevented it from occurring... Better for that to happen than the potential for violence that would be there otherwise... It also, unfortunately reaffirms that cynicism in the majority of the world. I've done some bad things in my life, but I would never steal from someone, especially not at Christmas-time...

Anyways, that's a little of what's going on. As I know more, I'll let y'all know more.

God, Friends, Family, Strength.

4x4

UPDATE: I just realized that the clip I found was /not/ the one in the pistol, but the back-up that I kept next to it. So, now there's a robber somewhere walking around with 16 shells and a power trip. Wonderful.
